In Memoriam

Edmund Poh, Molex

Edmind Poh At the time of his passing in February of 2019, Ed was a member of the JEDEC Board of Directors and had served in this role since 2008. He was also an active committee member and valued technical contributor. Ed also served as chair of JC-11 and JC-11.14 during his tenure at JEDEC.

Ed was a proud University of Maryland graduate and was with Molex LLC for over 25 years. He was an outstanding engineer, a good tennis player and a world class scuba diver. He was a Washington football fan and enjoyed a cold IPA.

JEDEC is grateful for Ed’s nearly fifteen years of service to the association, for his technical expertise and leadership, and most of all, for his friendship. Ed will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him, and will be remembered as a charming, knowledgeable and highly respected friend and colleague.

Howard Sussman, Sanyo

JEDEC is enormously grateful for Howard's 40-plus years of dedicated service to the association.

At the time of his passing in 2018, Howard was a member of the Board of Directors with 20 years of service, as well as vice chair of JC-16 and of JC-42.4, chair of JC-64.2 and chair of the serial flash TG.

Howard devoted over 50 years of his professional career to the semiconductor industry, and among his significant contributions to JEDEC include work on JEP106 Standard Manufacturer's ID Codes, DRAM attributes such as test mode and self refresh, Serial Flash Discovery Parameters and Synchronous DRAM.  Even so, Howard will be most remembered for his thoughtfulness and kindness to his colleagues and friends in JEDEC.

With grateful recognition for longtime members who have passed away while in active service to the association.  Any current member may sponsor a candidate for this recognition; please contact Arlene Collier for more information.
